The AIAA Sacramento Section welcomes you to join us for our next Dinner Meeting on April 24th, 2008. The meeting will be held at the California Aerospace Museum, where Michael Remington and Team Astroaraneae will lead you through his team’s contributions in the field achieved through competing in the NASA Tether Challenge.
The Mighty Tether, a documentary film, will be presented by its producers, Kane Wilke and Jeremy Dinovo. It distills, and elicits the very essence of technological innovation, as seen through the eyes of those toiling at the Space Elevator.
In addition to the presentation and film, admission includes access to the museum exhibits and one lucky attendee will receive a valuable DOOR PRIZE.
A revolutionary Earth to Orbit transit system, the Space Elevator, is primed to take the aerospace world by storm. Once in place, it has the potential to radically change our interaction with the rest of the universe, by providing cheap and ready access. Michael Remington, an Aerospace Engineer who specializes in Material and Composite Design at Aerojet, will illustrate the concept and its potential.
