Dinner Meeting April 24th - Space Elevator and NASA Teather Challange

The AIAA Sacramento Section welcomes you to join  us for our next Dinner Meeting on April 24th, 2008.  The meeting will be held at the California Aerospace Museum, where Michael Remington and Team Astroaraneae will lead you through his team’s contributions in the field achieved through competing in the NASA Tether Challenge.

The Mighty Tether, a documentary film, will be presented by its producers, Kane Wilke and Jeremy Dinovo. It distills, and elicits the very essence of technological innovation, as seen through the eyes of those toiling at the Space Elevator.

In addition to the presentation and film, admission includes access to the museum exhibits and one lucky attendee will receive a valuable DOOR PRIZE.

Dinner Meeting - 1/24/2008 - Space Tourism...Moon, Mars, and Beyond

The AIAA Sacramento Section welcomes you to another dinner meeting. Our Speaker, Gene Austin, will lead the attendees through a multimedia presentation of how the perspective of space exploration evolved over time. He will also present stimulating visions of how events of the recent past make our future in Space a most exciting prospect for all of us!

In addition to the presintation, on lucky attendee will recieve a valuable DOOR PRIZE.

Mr. Rober (Gene) Austin an AIAA Distinguished Lecturer and Former Program Manager of the X-33 Program at NASA MSFC.

Dinner Meeting 10/18 - Space Exploration Propulsion at Aerojet

The AIAA Sacramento Section welcomes you to another dinner meeting. Our Speaker, Julie Van Kleeck, will discuss the NASA Space Exploration Initiative and Aerojet’s significant roll in replacing the Space Shuttle and returning Humans to the Moon and Beyond.

Julie Van Kleeck, Vice President, Space Programs at Aerojet is responsible for space research, development and production programs. Ms. Van Kleeck joined Aerojet in 1981 and was appointed to her present position in June 2005. Prior to this assignment, she was Executive Director of Atlas V Programs for Aerojet. She has been instrumental in the development of leading edge rocket propulsion technology and products for Aerojet. She has extensive “hands on” experience in fundamental rocket combustion research and development, and liquid rocket engine and system design, development and testing.
